Psychology Week 2026 strengthened academic training and human well-being from a holistic perspective

Under the motto «"Psychological Roots: Understanding the Origin of Human Well-being"», The Psychology Department at UMECIT successfully developed Psychology Week 2026, an academic event aimed at promoting reflection, learning and strengthening professional skills related to mental health, human development and psychological well-being.

The activities began on June 15 with conferences, forums, and discussion sessions focused on fundamental topics for understanding human behavior and personal development. Highlights included presentations on identity building and self-esteem, given by Khaddine Lay, MA; social influence and psychological well-being, presented by Dr. Astrid Hernández from El Salvador; and a forum on the emotional challenges facing young people today.

The day also included the conference «"Invisible Emotional Wounds: How Family History Influences Our Adult Life"», taught by Mr. Miguel Domínguez, and the reflection panel «"Emotional patterns: Choice or repetition?"», promoting critical analysis of emotional experiences and their impact on people's lives.

The second day was dedicated to strengthening knowledge related to mental health and psychological care. Participants attended a conference on anxiety, depression, and warning signs, led by Kathleen Jiménez, MA; a training session on Psychological First Aid, facilitated by Jonathan Fonseca, MA; and a specialized workshop on emotional regulation strategies.

As part of the week's innovative activities, a Psychological Film Forum was held with the screening of the film Soul, followed by a space for reflection and analysis led by Mgter. Jennifer Potosme, who addressed topics related to life purpose, emotions and psychological well-being.

Psychology Week 2026 concluded on June 20th with a closing session featuring prominent national specialists.
