The La Chorrera campus actively participates in the National Student Research Conference

Last Saturday, April 18, the La Chorrera branch of the Metropolitan University of Education, Science and Technology -UMECIT- enthusiastically participated in the National Student Research Day, consolidating an academic space aimed at strengthening the research culture and the production of knowledge from the classrooms.

At this important meeting, students from the careers of Occupational Safety and Health, General Psychology, Social Work and Human Development, Criminalistics and Forensic Sciences, Law and Political Science, Banking and Finance and Environmental Management Administration were present, who presented their research projects in the auditorium of headquarters B, developed with scientific rigor and academic focus.

The event highlighted the students' commitment to applied research, as well as the constant support of the teaching staff in guiding relevant and impactful research processes.

During the event, the following winning projects were highlighted:

  • First place: Bachelor's Degree in Law and Political Science, with the theme “Legal analysis of the regulation of digital twins in Panamanian mining legislation”, under the tutelage of Professor María Alverola.
  • Second place: Bachelor's Degree in Criminalistics and Forensic Sciences, with the theme “Chemical-forensic analysis of adulterants (levamisole) in cocaine seized on Panamanian coasts”, under the tutelage of Professor Milisa Madrid.
  • Third place: Bachelor's Degree in General Psychology, with the theme “Emotional and behavioral changes in older adults with Alzheimer's: a documentary review from clinical psychology and the Panamanian context”, under the tutelage of Professor Yanabel Delgado.

UMECIT extends special recognition to all students, teachers and administrative staff who made this significant day possible, which reaffirms the institutional commitment to research as a fundamental axis of academic training and social development.
