Training in real-world contexts strengthens swimming skills of Physical Education students
The Faculty of Humanities at UMECIT continues to strengthen its educational model based on the integration of theory and practice through an academic swimming day developed by students of the Bachelor's Degree in Physical Education and Personal Training in real learning scenarios.
The activity was developed from a rigorously academic approach based on experiential education and meaningful learning, allowing students to transfer knowledge to applied contexts and consolidate essential skills for their future professional performance.
During the day, participants strengthened pedagogical, technical and evaluative skills related to didactic planning, intervention in aquatic environments and real-time informed decision making, key aspects within the field of physical activity and health.
Furthermore, this experience was aligned with the competency-based training model promoted by the university, integrating knowledge, skills, and personal attributes as fundamental pillars of the educational process. In this way, a reflective and contextualized practice is fostered, one that is aligned with the contemporary demands of professional practice.
With initiatives like this, the Faculty of Humanities reaffirms its commitment to relevant, innovative training processes oriented towards academic excellence, preparing professionals capable of responding effectively to the current challenges in the sports and comprehensive health field.
