Emotional well-being during a day of support for older adults
As part of Good Deeds Day (April 12), a day of psychological support and emotional well-being was held at the San Juan Pablo II Shelter, in conjunction with the Emotional Compass Foundation, made up of UMECIT graduates.
This initiative highlighted the value of collaborative work between academia and society, with the active participation of Psychology students, who, as part of their practice in the Psychological Clinic, developed spaces for listening, cognitive stimulation, emotional expression and coexistence with older adults.
The day transcended the academic sphere, becoming a human encounter based on empathy, respect, and meaningful learning. Through this experience, the students strengthened their professional skills while contributing to the emotional well-being of the people they served.
This type of action reinforces the institutional commitment to comprehensive education, integrating teaching and outreach as fundamental pillars to generate a positive social impact.
