UMECIT stands out at the National Scientific Initiation Day 2023 – Promoting Training Research in Panama

UMECIT is proud to have had an outstanding participation in the National Scientific Initiation Day 2023, an event sponsored by SENACYT that highlights the development of formative research in Panamanian universities.

As a result of our rigorous internal conferences, the most outstanding projects were selected to represent our institution. A total of six high-quality investigations were presented at this important event, with the participation of students and teachers from all our locations.

From the headquarters in Panama, the students of the Bachelor's Degree in Criminalistics Yski Vigil, Aldair Casiano and Kerling Dominguez, accompanied by Professor Lisbeth González, presented the research titled "Detection and identification of human semen in a sexual assault crime scene and its applicability in the administration of Panamanian justice.

César Peralta, Edgardo Casal and Minoru Mojica, students of the Bachelor's Degree in Psychology, together with teacher Jill Manuel, presented an "Interdisciplinary study of generational perception of mental health in the Panamanian population."

From the Chitré headquarters, the students of the Bachelor's Degree in Medical Records and Health Statistics, Norelys Montenegro and Miriam Ramos, led by Professor Karen Bottelo, presented the research "Comparison of the registry of the Perinatal Process of PAHO/WHO and MINSA PANAMA".

At David's headquarters, the students of the Bachelor's Degree in Medical Records and Health Statistics, Kevin Rodríguez, Fabián González and Jeremys Gallardo, accompanied by Professor Kevin Castillo, presented the research "Quality of medical care in patients in the district from David".

The La Chorrera headquarters was represented by students Ester Samudio, Roberto Salazar and Carlos Loo, from the Bachelor's Degree in Law and Political Sciences, accompanied by Professor Michelle Rangel, who presented the research "Polluting agents within the scene of crime and its legal repercussions.

Finally, from the Santiago headquarters, Professor Alexis Gómez led the group of students of the Bachelor of Environmental Management, Yipsia Rudas and Alin Him, with the research: "Protocol diagnosis of the management of hazardous solid waste generated in dentistry."

We congratulate all our students and teachers for their outstanding representation on this day. This demonstrates our commitment to the Neocyberhumanist Curricular Educational Model and our continuous promotion of formative research in Panama.
