Coffee with the Rector and meeting of the employer sector of the Degrees in Physiotherapy and Occupational Safety and Health

The morning of this Friday, September 29, was full of knowledge and collaboration, in the long-awaited "Work Breakfast with the Employer Sector" and the "Coffee with the Rector" within the framework of the meeting of the Degrees in Physiotherapy and Occupational Safety and Health , with the business sector. This event was an opportunity to strengthen ties between our educational institution and the business sector.

The Rector of our House of Studies, Dr. José Alberto Nieto Rojas, welcomed everyone present with an inspiring message. He noted the importance of adopting futuristic thinking in a world driven by artificial intelligence (AI). “It pays to be forward-looking to make the most of what AI can offer,” said Dr. Nieto Rojas. In addition, he called for science to be open and shared, highlighting the need to work collaboratively for the well-being of our country. "The results will be significantly better when we work together," he emphasized.

One of the highlights of the event was the conference by Dr. Emilio Suñe, who addressed the fascinating topic of AI and its implication in the legal field. During his presentation, Dr. Suñe provided a deep insight into the history of AI and its evolution. He also discussed “Moore's Law” or “Empirical Law,” which holds that computing power doubles every two years. This law has been instrumental in the rapid advancement of AI in recent decades.

Dr. Suñe also shared shocking data about the growing presence of robots in companies. He noted that in recent years, we have seen a 42% increase in the incorporation of robots in business environments. This trend is transforming the way we work and poses exciting challenges and opportunities in the field of occupational safety and health.

This meeting not only provided valuable knowledge, but also fostered an essential dialogue between our University and the employer sector. We will continue to work together to prepare our students for an AI-driven world and to address the challenges and opportunities presented in the field of physical therapy and occupational safety and health. Together, we are building a promising future.
