UMECIT authorities participated in the session of the Education, Culture, Science, Technology and Communication Commission of the Latin American and Caribbean Parliament, held at the permanent headquarters of the organization in Panama City, on May 7.
The meeting brought together parliamentarians, academics, international experts and representatives from various higher education institutions in Latin America and Europe, in a space for dialogue aimed at strengthening public policies, academic cooperation and the construction of regional initiatives linked to education, science and innovation.
During the day, UMECIT held important academic talks with representatives from the University of Barcelona and the University of Alto Vale do Rio do Peixe, Brazil, with the purpose of promoting future joint research related to the international project "Schools for Creativity", an initiative focused on the development of innovative and transformative educational models.
These talks represent a significant step towards consolidating international strategic alliances that will strengthen scientific research, academic exchange, and the development of educational proposals aimed at addressing the region's contemporary challenges.
The Commission, chaired by Deputy Lilia Batista, addressed issues related to the Declaration for the Right to a Creative School, as well as regional proposals linked to strengthening science, technology, emotional education and educational strategies in the face of social inequalities.
UMECIT's participation in this important international forum reaffirms its institutional commitment to research, educational innovation, and international cooperation, projecting from Panama academic initiatives with regional impact that contribute to strengthening a more creative, inclusive, and transformative education.
