Psychology students strengthen their training with a visit to the Bolívar Home
As part of their academic and professional training process, students from the Psychology program at UMECIT made an academic visit to the Bolívar Home, where they had the opportunity to approach real scenarios related to the care and support of older adults.
During this experience, the students observed and analyzed aspects related to biopsychosocial development and the aging process in late adulthood, strengthening their knowledge about the characteristics, needs and challenges of this stage of human development.
The day also included cognitive stimulation exercises and socialization activities, aimed at promoting participation, interaction, active listening and the well-being of older adults.
These types of learning experiences allow future psychology professionals to integrate the knowledge acquired in the classroom with practice in real contexts, developing skills such as empathy, ethical sensitivity, observation, professional judgment, and the ability to intervene.
The visit to Hogar Bolívar reaffirms UMECIT's commitment to a comprehensive, humanistic education linked to the needs of society, preparing professionals capable of understanding and accompanying human beings in the different stages of their lives.
At UMECIT we believe that training professionals in Psychology also means learning to listen, understand and support with knowledge, ethics and empathy.
