With the aim of strengthening academic training and promoting the analysis of fundamental issues of Procedural Law, students of the Bachelor of Law and Political Science (Saturday session), together with the teacher Aracely Achille, organized the academic discussion «"Nullities, Incidents and Precautionary Measures"», aimed at students of the Faculty of Law and Forensic Sciences of UMECIT, La Chorrera campus.
The event brought together students from different levels of the degree program and faculty members, who actively participated in an academic update and exchange of knowledge on essential aspects of legal practice.
The invited speakers included prominent professionals from the judicial field and the practice of law. The lawyer Ian Jesus Revello, The litigator developed the presentation «"Incidents: Approaches and Processing in the Criminal Procedure Code and the Civil Procedure Code"», in which he explained the procedures, requirements and criteria applicable in both jurisdictions.
For his part, the lawyer Javier Rodríguez, Judge of the Oral Trial System of the Accusatory Criminal System (SPA), presented the conference «"Nullities: Causes, Effects and Criteria in the Procedural Code"», highlighting the importance of procedural guarantees, the grounds for annulment and their impact on the protection of due process.
The third presentation was given by the lawyer Francisco Carpintero, Judge of Guarantees of the First Judicial Circuit of Panama, who addressed the issue «"Precautionary Measures in the Criminal Procedure Code"», explaining the principles that guide its application, the criteria that support judicial decisions and its purpose within the criminal process.
During the discussion, attendees actively participated by asking questions, making comments, and exchanging experiences with the speakers, creating a space for dialogue that fostered critical thinking, legal analysis, and the updating of knowledge in procedural matters.
