Students from the subject of Management of Wild Areas, of the Bachelor's Degree in Environmental Management Administration, Saturday daytime, of the UMECIT headquarters of La Chorrera, carried out an enriching academic tour to the Cerro Gaital Protected Area, the Golden Frog Conservation Center (EVACC) and the El Níspero Zoo and Botanical Garden.

During the tour, the students learned about the biodiversity present in these areas and the efforts being made for their protection and conservation. The activity, coordinated and led by Professor Tel-Aviv Vargas, allowed them to apply the knowledge acquired in the classroom to fieldwork through direct observation, interaction with specialists, and data collection.

One of the highlights of the tour was the visit to EVACC, where the students learned firsthand about initiatives aimed at the conservation of the golden frog, as well as the challenges this species faces and the importance of protecting threatened biodiversity.

Likewise, the tour of the Cerro Gaital Protected Area and the El Níspero Zoo and Botanical Garden allowed participants to appreciate the natural richness of these spaces and understand the role played by areas designated for the conservation of natural resources.

This learning experience outside the classroom contributed to strengthening students' professional skills, promoting research, analysis, and greater awareness of the responsibility involved in managing and conserving natural heritage.

With initiatives like this, UMECIT reaffirms its commitment to a comprehensive education, linked to research and the environmental reality of the country, training professionals capable of actively contributing to the construction of a more sustainable future.
