This July 19, 2022, within the framework of the Sixty-fifth Graduation Ceremony, the launch of the new image of the Metropolitan University of Education, Science and Technology - UMECIT-, which coincides with the celebration of his 18 years.
The UMECIT cyberhumanist educational model has come of age and is projected into the future as the engine of change that transforms the lives of entire generations through education, values and sport.
Four decades have passed since December 16, 2002 when the Metropolitan University of Education, Science and Technology - UMECIT - was founded, and 18 years since it was approved by the Ministry of Education of Panama, on July 21, 2004. The bet Because we are pioneers in the country in taking professional education to another level of access and coverage, it has been fruitful. Our blended education model enhanced with the support of technology and virtuality has positioned us as the best option for thousands of students and families. who have seen their dreams come true in our physical and virtual classrooms, it is time to take a giant leap into the future.
A long road has been traveled, an experience that goes from awakening, growing, learning, to later obtaining the full capacity of character and that is what we want to proclaim today: We have reached the age of majority, stronger than ever, more mature, more capable and with the experience acquired throughout these 18 years when in a visionary way, from our birth we aim at virtuality.

When digital transformation was only a dream, UMECIT was at the forefront and now, when we come of age, we continue to innovate and grow. UMECIT is evolution and transformation, therefore, in accordance with our values and institutional vision, our brand changes, renews, becomes projects into the horizon of the digital age.
The new image of our House of Studies strengthens and solidifies the values of the brand, but heralds a new stage, and tied to change comes consolidation as a result of continuous self-evaluation and constant improvement. We work on the renewal of the accreditation, on the continuous improvement of our processes, on the quality of education and we are committed to the improvement of good service.
We have positioned ourselves as one of the best universities in Panama and the region, we have evolved and now we are advancing firmly towards new challenges, with the certainty that we have achieved the necessary knowledge to adapt to the future of education with modernity and innovation.

The new identity reflects our position in virtual education, technological advances and the internationalization of the brand.
In the new design of the brand we managed to make the complex look simple, that technology is accessible, that the world has no borders, that innovation is not the future but now.
On a visual level, the new brand is minimalist and simple, where green and blue colors are predominant, communicating social responsibility with the environment and loyalty and trust with our community and the world.
We observe that the identity is unified in the logo, the typographic construction and the photographic style are coherent with the communication of its web portal, its social networks, its images and in all other pieces of communication.
UMECIT opens its doors to new digital challenges and builds its image from pixels that make up a vigorous, modern image that breaks borders to reach many more places, many more people who can fraternize in the distance, communicate and create knowledge with their peers. even thousands of kilometers away thanks to the technological commitment, as it was in its beginnings and how it will be in the new era.
The brand's typography reflects the openness to new knowledge, preserving the colors that have championed us these 18 years: Green that translates the color of this beautiful and exuberant nature that surrounds us and with which we are committed to taking care of it and living in harmony with her Blue represents the color of the sky and the sea of our country, the loyalty and trust in our educational community and the faith with which we promote our work.
