Graduation application guide

Dear students who completed their degree or program at the different levels of academic training (undergraduate, graduate and postgraduate), as established in the contents, procedures and regulations that converge from these, both internal and external, below you will find the precise guidelines on The Degree Application and Graduation Process:

Graduation Schedule

Completion date for the degree application on the Cibërsity platform : December 21, 2023

Closing date for filling out the degree application on the Cibërsity platform: December 23, 2023

Deadline for the closing of minutes: January 10, 2024 Closing of approval as graduating.

Title Date: January 13, 2024

Delivery of diploma and/or act of graduation ceremony: *Extraordinary degrees. Diploma delivery at the window (date to be defined)

Completion date for the degree application on the Cibërsity platform: January 31, 2024

Closing date for filling out the degree application on the Cibërsity platform: April 25, 2024

Deadline for the closing of minutes: May 25, 2024. Closing of approval as graduating.

Title Date: May 31, 2024

Diploma delivery: *Graduation ceremony (date to be defined)

Completion date for the degree application on the Cibërsity platform: April 27, 2024

Closing date for filling out the degree application on the Cibërsity platform: June 15, 2024. 

Deadline for the closing of minutes: July 26, 2024. Closing of approval as graduating.

Title Date: July 31, 2024

Delivery of diploma and/or act of graduation ceremony: *Delivery of diploma by window (date to be defined)

Completion date for the degree application on the Cibërsity platform: June 18, 2024

Closing date for filling out the degree application on the Cibërsity platform: August 10, 2024

Deadline for the closing of minutes: September 26, 2024. Closing of approval as graduating.

Title Date: October 3, 2024.

Diploma delivery: *Graduation ceremony (date to be defined)

Once the electronic form is filled out, you must be aware of the notifications on the platform:

  • Degree applicant: Document under review.
  • Rectification Request: The student must provide evidence of the points described in the form, in a stipulated time.
  • Denial of degree application: The reasons for which you will not be able to participate on the designated graduation date are notified, and you must wait for a new graduation date and provide what is pending that you did not consider in the current grades.
  • Application approved: Notification certifying the applicant who will become a graduate, which meets all the requirements established for the title applied for, and in turn informs him that he is on the graduation list.

When the General Secretariat has finished signing the Notification of Approval to the graduates,

the closing of the minutes is carried out, so that an official list of graduates can be drawn up, and those applicants who did not meet the graduation requirements are denied. After these steps, the electronic signature of the official documents by the authorized Academic Authorities begins.

For the delivery of titles in physical,

Diploma withdrawal dates (window and/or graduation date) will be announced through communications. In case of being a foreign graduate, the University organizes documents to be sent to the corresponding country.

Graduates who wish to participate in a ceremonial act,

must be attentive to the notification of approval on the platform (link to enter the form) and fill out the registration; since this maintains a closing date.

How to participate to obtain the title?

Students interested in participating in a graduation must first verify their compliance with the completion of the degree or program and rectify the entry, permanence and graduation requirements in the Cibersity Platform as established below:

Have fulfilled and approved the study plan

(subjects and qualifications) with the corresponding academic average, the graduation requirements stipulated in the academic program (professional practice, report, support of the same) and degree requirements (thesis, specialty subjects, knowledge exam, seminar or diplomas between others).

Have prepared, supported and delivered degree work

(thesis) or practice reports to the library, complying with the regulatory provisions pertinent to the dependencies related to the process.

be at peace and safe

with the expenses that the course completed and the graduation rights deserve, rectified by the portfolio department or the instance that is incumbent upon it at the time.

Once your compliance has been verified, you can fill out the degree application that is found electronically on the Cybercity platform,

you must select the title to apply. The following tabs are located within this form: General data, additional data, degree application data, and option to provide degree graduation documents; All the boxes must be completed and the documents that correspond to the degree must be lodged. If the option or access to the platform is not enabled, immediately notify the coordinator or technical staff.

Note: The degree application must be filled out individually, for each academic degree completed and approved. Example: Fill out application for Title #1: Technician/Specialization Fill out another application for Title # 2: Bachelor's/Master's degree

Instructions - Process for applying for a degree with the option to take a survey

Important

It is the responsibility of the student to be aware of the data, documents and notifications that are found or generated on the platform, in the event of any anomaly, they must report to the coordination or technicians.

The dates scheduled in the agenda may vary if necessary and these are with opening and closing dates.

If the personal identity document presents any changes to the initial document delivered at the time of enrollment, you must notify the coordination or the Department of Academic Registration, so that it can be considered at the time of issuance of the title.

The degree application is an application where you begin with a process of verification of your file with the responsible instances and compliance with the requirements demanded in your program or study career. Having filled out the document application does not guarantee your status as a graduate.

The review of the files of the applicants will be carried out according to the order of arrival of the applications.

It is the responsibility of the applicant to read the virtual degree application guide, shared with the coordinators and hosted on the website www.umecit.edu.pa

In case of not participating in the degree ceremonies or on the stipulated dates, for the withdrawals through the window, the documents (diploma, credits, minutes), the graduate must accept the payment of the penalty for late withdrawal, issued by the Administrative Council.

In the event that the graduate once has the official documents in his possession, note that his personal data does not correspond to the personal identity document or passport, they must notify immediately within a period of no more than 15 business days, and the corrections will be made relevant free of charge.
