UMECIT launched “Connecting Education and Employment: Talent, Opportunity and Science”, a strategic initiative developed in conjunction with the Ministry of Commerce and Industries (MICI), aimed at strengthening the connection between university education and the real dynamics of the labor market in Panama.
The first day brought together more than 150 key stakeholders, including representatives from the business sector, public institutions, faculty, students, graduates, and entrepreneurs. This space for dialogue and collective development demonstrated a strong multi-sectoral commitment to human talent development in the country.
During the meeting, highly relevant topics were addressed, such as labor market trends, the transformation of professional profiles, 21st century skills, innovation in academic offerings, and the need for effective coordination between education, productivity, and public policies.
The event featured Jeff Morales, who presented an updated analysis of the employment situation in Panama, based on data and reports from Konzerta, providing key information for decision-making regarding training and employability.
This initiative reaffirms UMECIT's commitment to generating strategic alliances that allow anticipating changes in the environment, reducing the gaps between academia and employment, and designing relevant responses that promote competitiveness, inclusion, and sustainable development in the country.
“Connecting Education and Employment” is consolidating itself as a platform for dialogue and advocacy, aimed at generating concrete proposals that positively impact employability, entrepreneurship and social transformation.
UMECIT continues to be committed to an education connected to reality, training not only professionals, but leaders capable of transforming their environment and building the future.
