As part of their academic training process, students of the Bachelor's Degree in Environmental Management Administration, Saturday group 2023, carried out a field practice under the coordination of Professor Germán Jaén, at the farm of producer Raquildo Domínguez, located in the township of Herrera.

During the day, participants toured the plots dedicated to pineapple production for national and international markets, where they learned firsthand about the different stages of the crop's agronomic management. Mr. Domínguez also shared the history of pineapple production in the region, as well as his experience with cultivation techniques, agronomic management, and marketing processes geared toward export.

The practical experience allowed students to connect the knowledge acquired in the classroom with a real productive environment, strengthening their skills through direct observation of good agricultural practices, sustainable production processes, and the importance of the responsible use of agrochemicals to guarantee product quality and environmental conservation.

The satisfaction assessment demonstrated the fulfillment of the proposed academic objectives, reflecting a highly positive experience for the participants and reaffirming the value of practical learning as a complement to professional training.

From the core functions of the university, this activity strengthened teaching through the integration of theory and practice; boosted research by promoting the analysis of sustainable agricultural technologies and the responsible management of agrochemicals; and contributed to university outreach by fostering the commitment of future professionals to sustainability, environmental protection, and the strengthening of links between academia and the productive sector.
