Launch of the new state-of-the-art equipment of the Physiotherapy Laboratory

The Metropolitan University of Education, Science and Technology- UMECIT– carried out the launch of the new state-of-the-art equipment of the Physiotherapy Laboratory.

The ribbon-cutting ceremony for the new teams was in charge of the rector, Jose Alberto Nieto Rojas, With Santiago Nieto Rueda, Vice Chancellor of Projects, Alejandra Navarro, Legal Adviser, Juan David Nieto Rueda, Vice Chancellor of Control and Diana Gutierrez, UMECIT FC Press Officer, Lourdes Iribarren, Coordinator of the Faculty of Health and the student Maria Jose.

Within the framework of the event, the rector expressed his satisfaction for participating in this important time for our House of Studies. "These are the pleasant moments that you have in university life and this is very directed at our physiotherapy students and very directed towards the community" he pointed.

Likewise, he explained the importance of students having the opportunity to handle state-of-the-art technology with innovative equipment and that upon graduation they have the necessary tools to deliver their knowledge and contributions to Panamanian society, for which he sent them a specific message. “Feel proud and blessed that you have a first-class career and you can live it every day, being the protagonists. You graduate with a quality projection and society should feel proud of this valuable contribution," said the rector.

For his part, Magister Alejandro Córdoba, executive of Infinity Medical and in charge of training students in the management of new equipment, alluded to the Law of conservation of energy, stating that "Energy is not created or destroyed, only is transformed and this is what has been seen in the transformation of UMECIT, from its beginnings until now and at this moment we are inaugurating the best university clinic in the country, if not in Central America and the region”, said Córdoba.

This emotional event was blessed with the words of Deacon José Cortéz, who spoke of the importance of delivering students who do good to society.

The event was attended by Sheila Chen from APAIF (Panamanian Association of Physiotherapy and/or Kinesiology) and Diana Varela of the General Directorate of Public Health of the Ministry of Health (Minsa).

For his part, the Vice Chancellor for Control, Juan David Nieto Rueda, was in charge of closing the event with a toast and giving thanks to all the people who with great effort made this moment possible.
