Academic conference on financial crimes strengthens legal training and applied criminal analysis

Excellent legal training transcends the theoretical study of codes and is consolidated through the critical analysis of social and technical realities. Based on this premise, an academic conference focused on the study of... was successfully held. Financial crimes from the perspective of the General Theory of Crime, initiative promoted from the subject General Criminal Law I, in charge of the professor Ogami R. Rivera Cano.

The event brought together more than 75 students, establishing itself as a high-impact academic outreach space, aimed at strengthening the understanding of new criminal dynamics that affect economic contexts both nationally and internationally.

One of the main contributions of this event was its close connection to student research processes. The content covered was strategically designed to complement the lines of research developed by students in their theses, providing theoretical tools, case studies, and updated doctrine that strengthen the scientific rigor of their projects.

The activity also included the participation of representatives from National Police of Panama and from Public ministry, whose presentation allowed attendees to understand, from a professional perspective, the development of iter criminis and the criminal prosecution techniques applied to financial crimes.

The collaboration between academia and the institutions of the justice system demonstrates the value of strategic alliances in the training of legal professionals with a comprehensive, critical, and contextualized vision.

This type of initiative reaffirms the institutional commitment to educational quality, promoting the training of lawyers capable of accurately analyzing complex phenomena such as economic and financial crimes.
