Future professionals refine human identification techniques through specialized workshop

As part of UMECIT's commitment to comprehensive training and practical learning, the Fingerprint and Palm Print Taking Workshop was developed for students of the Bachelor's Degree in Criminalistics and Forensic Science who are taking the subject Dactyloscopy I.

The activity was taught by Professor Abel Guevarra, the subject's teacher, with the objective of strengthening theoretical and practical knowledge related to human identification processes using biometric techniques, fundamental for professional practice in the forensic field.

During the workshop, students participated in various practical activities focused on the correct collection, recording, and analysis of fingerprints and palm prints, applying standardized technical procedures used in personal identification processes. They also explored the recognition of biometric characteristics and the main types of fingerprint patterns used in forensic investigations and expert analyses.

The day allowed participants to develop essential technical skills for their academic and professional training, strengthening competencies related to the observation, analysis and interpretation of biometric evidence.

In addition to reinforcing the content covered in the classroom, this experience promoted active learning and interest in forensic science, allowing students to understand the importance of fingerprinting as a fundamental tool in human identification processes.

The results obtained showed a positive assessment by the participants and highlight the importance of continuing to develop practical training spaces that complement theoretical training, contributing to the development of highly trained professionals to face the challenges of the field of Criminalistics and Forensic Science.

Through initiatives like this, UMECIT reaffirms its commitment to quality education, based on academic excellence, innovation, and the training of professionals prepared to respond to the needs of society.
