With the purpose of promoting the participation of young students from different educational institutions so that they share the actions and activities that they carry out, in each of their universities, in matters of environmental protection and sustainable development, as well as the importance To work together to achieve the objectives, in addition to promoting an environmental culture that makes a difference in the country, the Youth Network of Panamanian Universities - PADES- carries out this Youth Fair.
UMECIT, as part of its extension program, takes part in these activities, with the aim of promoting a space for reflection in the participants, which helps them to promote a civic attitude and citizen responsibility aimed at learning about environmental issues. In this way, our House of Studies continues to consolidate a culture of environmental conservation inside and outside the institution, with a view to reducing the environmental impact of the environment, as a citizen responsibility of the entire UMEC community; At the same time, it promotes the promotion and training in the management of information and real situations on disaster risks, climate change, conservation of natural resources and the environment in the university community and in general.
RUPADES is the network that promotes environmental management in universities to face the challenges of sustainable development in Panama, made up of the member universities of the Council of Rectors. Its main objective is to stimulate the exchange of information and promote compliance with the so-called university social responsibility. On Thursday, July 1, 2021, the Official Launch of the RUPADES Youth Network took place, an event organized by the Network of Panamanian Universities for Sustainable Development (RUPADES), the Council of Rectors of Panama and the United Nations Program for the Environment and is made up of a youth full of energy and desire to promote activities focused on caring for the environment. We invite students, teachers, graduates and collaborators to participate in this event.
