On October 30, at the Campo Futuras Promesas, the final of the UMECIT 2022 Intercollegiate Soccer Tournament was played, between the casts of the Juan Díaz Professional and Technical Institute and the Panama Commercial Institute, a championship where 16 schools participated, both public and private. Central, North and East Panama.
The closing of the event began with the match of the stars, where the best players of the contest came together to show their power against the under 18 team of the UMECIT FC academy. The match for the title of champion was very disputed, being decided in the final minutes of the match, giving a result of 2-1 in favor of Comercial Panama.
Emanuel Bailey, won the title of best player and top scorer of the tournament with 7 goals. In the award ceremony, the student Kevin Frías belonging to the IPT also stood out. Juan Díaz won the award for the best goalkeeper in the competition. The main purpose of this intercollegiate tournament is to use soccer as an alternative for adolescents to develop principles and values that allow them to avoid unfavorable situations and student desertion.
In this way, UMECIT aims to design a set of strategies that bet on the creation of healthy habits, which allows young people to see the practice of soccer as a life plan, with which they can develop professionally and personally through of Education.
