The university community of UMECIT Santiago campus joined the Relay Race for Life, an initiative of the Friends of Children with Leukemia and Cancer Foundation (FANLYC), held this Sunday on Boulevard Santiago.

Administrative staff, teachers, and students actively participated in this event, reaffirming the institution's commitment to a cause that encourages solidarity, empathy, and support for children and young people facing cancer.During the activity, the UMECIT delegation managed to travel a total of 525 kilometers, demonstrating that each kilometer represents much more than a distance traveled: it represents the commitment of a community that decides to unite to support and generate hope.

One of the most special moments of the day was having the presence of Gerald Pérez, our godson from the Santiago campus, who accompanied the university community during this experience and shared with students, teachers and administrative staff.

Participation in the Relay for Life is part of the social responsibility actions promoted by UMECIT, fostering an education that integrates knowledge with values such as solidarity, service and human quality.

With this participation, the Santiago branch reaffirms that when a community unites for a cause, every step counts and every effort can become a message of hope.
