UMECIT participates in the program: Line of Action Changing Lives
With the purpose of promoting the culture of entrepreneurship and strengthening the training of creative and hardworking women aimed at improving their quality of life, UMECIT participated in the beginning of the Line of Action Changing Lives in the Community of Nueva Jerusalén de Caimitillo and Villa Unida and La Unión Veragüense de Chilibre, achieving the recruitment of 150 participants.
The Axis Project Changing Lives led by the Ministry of Labor and Labor Development and the active participation of government institutions such as INADEH, IPACOOP, INAMU, MIDES, the Ministry of Culture and UMECIT as the only allied Higher Education entity, is focused on promoting economic independence and the empowerment of women in different communities nationwide.
The Mgter. Teresa de Irving, Director of Extension of our House of Studies, offered the opening words, in this inaugural act that counted with the participation of the Minister of Labor, Doris Zapata; Mgter. Yelitza González, National Director of Gender Equity and Equal Opportunities; Mgter.Shanida Welsh, Coordinator of Entrepreneurship and Executives of allied Government Institutions.
The next phase of training that begins on April 13 will be in charge of the Coordination of Entrepreneurship, led by Mgter. Shanida Welsh and will be accompanied by Lic. Carlos Martínez and Lic. Emmanuel Mendieta.
