UMECIT celebrates the grand final of the 2nd edition of the Short Film Competition “The Art of Weaving Stories 2026”

This September 26th, UMECIT will hold the grand final of the 2nd edition of the Short Film Competition “The Art of Weaving Stories 2026”, an initiative of our House of Studies to promote the creativity, artistic expression and audiovisual production of students, giving them a space to develop and share their stories through the cinematic language.

As part of this grand finale, the finalist short films will be screened and the winning short film will be awarded, recognizing the effort, creativity and work developed by the participants during this second edition.

An encounter with audiovisual production

The event will feature Juan Pablo Coronel, a producer with experience in the audiovisual field, who will give the following presentation:

“Producing in times of change: 30 years behind the cameras and an industry that never stopped transforming.”.

Drawing on his 30 years of experience behind the cameras, Coronel will address the changes that the audiovisual industry has undergone and the challenges involved in producing in a constantly transforming environment.

With this initiative, UMECIT continues to strengthen spaces for its students to create, express themselves and share their talent, linking university education with experiences in art, culture and audiovisual production.
