UMECIT, La Chorrera branch, participated in the Consultation Workshop for the formulation of the Public Policy on Equal Opportunities for Women, an initiative organized by the Comprehensive Care Center for Women of La Chorrera and UN Women, aimed at promoting spaces for dialogue and collective construction for the strengthening of inclusive public policies.

The activity aimed to gather input from authorities, institutions, and organizations in the district of La Chorrera, in order to build a public policy that effectively responds to the needs and realities faced by women in different social spheres.

The workshop was facilitated by UN Women consultant Samirah Armengol, with the support of the Human Rights Directorate of the Ministry of Women of Panama. Women leaders from the district participated in the event, sharing knowledge and experiences aimed at strengthening equity, inclusion, and the holistic development of women.

Representing UMECIT was administrative collaborator María Esther Suira, along with members of the senior citizens group of the Golden Age project, who contributed experiences, perspectives and proposals that significantly enriched the development of the day.

This space allowed for an enriching exchange of ideas, reaffirming the commitment of the participating institutions to the promotion of more inclusive, humane public policies oriented towards social welfare.
