UMECIT, La Chorrera branch, actively participated in the Afro Fest 2026, an event organized by the Mayor's Office of La Chorrera, together with student entrepreneurs, graduates and institutional promoters.

During this important cultural and community activity, entrepreneurial students and graduates had the opportunity to exhibit, promote and market their products, strengthening their business initiatives and generating spaces for visibility and interaction with the Chorrera community.

Likewise, the UMECIT team of promoters provided guidance and information on the University's academic offerings, sharing with attendees the professional training opportunities available in the different academic programs and degrees.

The invitation was extended directly to the University, and the Extension Coordination She was in charge of developing the actions corresponding to the entrepreneurship subprogram, carrying out the call and support of the participating entrepreneurs. 

Participation in these types of initiatives strengthens the existing collaboration agreement between UMECIT and the Mayor's Office of La Chorrera, reaffirming the commitment of both institutions to promoting education, entrepreneurship, capacity building, and collaborative work for the benefit of the community.

Furthermore, these spaces strengthen the link between academia and society, promoting inclusion, culture, innovation, and economic growth for students, graduates, and local entrepreneurs.
