The important recognition of the production of academic scientific journals was carried out at the presentation of the IV catwalk of scientific publications within the framework of the 2022 International Summer School season of the Panama university.
The recognition of the two award-winning magazines of our House of Studies was received by the Rector, Dr. Jose Alberto Nieto Rojas and Dr. Magdy De las Salas, Director of Research, Innovation and Graduate Studies and editor of the publications.

The journals achieved reindexation in the Latindex 2.0 catalog according to the evaluation under the 38 editorial criteria in the first-year category of sustainability.

The scientific publication gained recognition by passing 36 criteria in its first year of re-evaluation. In 2021, the articles were consulted by users from Peru, the United States, Canada, Mexico, Russia, China, among others.

The IV scientific publications catwalk is the ideal event to promote an academic space where knowledge and research are exchanged and where the results are evidenced in a participatory model that has led to an increase in the number of publications produced and indexed.

"It is about meeting and evaluating how far we have advanced in the subject of scientific communication and encouraging ourselves, because it is an event where we want to support each other to continue forward" The Vice Chancellor for Research and Graduate Studies of the University of Panama, Jaime Gutierrez, pointed out.

For Magister Ricardo Him Chi, Vice Chancellor for Research at the UP, this annual event, which has been held since 2018, "has encouraged the growth of scientific publications that have come to light" and added "tonight we can feel proud when evaluating the route taken as a result of this effort and the firm decision to continue in the task of promoting an academic space suitable for collaboration and the exchange of knowledge and experiences between specialists from universities, institutes, specialized centers and international and national academic organizations ”. Likewise, he pointed out that the results are obvious and allow us to confirm the fruit of the organization and perseverance in the design of a broad and diverse participatory model, "so we cannot faint in the efforts to link the academy with the needs of men and women who demand culture, quality education, justice and equity” Said Him Chi Vice Chancellor of Research of the UP.
José Emilio Romero, Academic Vice Chancellor of the UP, indicated that "the time has come for a group of these journals, if not all of them, to make them more specialized every day, in such a way that they are endorsed by other indexers such as the of Scopus data… that is a goal that little by little we must achieve”. José Emilio Romero, Academic Vice Chancellor of the UP

The gala and recognition night was enlivened by the Folkloric Ensemble of the Office of the Vice-Rector for Student Affairs and included the participation of the Diablos Espejo Dance from the Dance School of the Faculty of Fine Arts of the UP.
