Health Promotion Week: Keeping you healthy is your priority and organ donation an option
Health Promotion Week is an annual event organized by the Ministry of Health in collaboration with the Council of Rectors. On this occasion, it is commemorated from July 11 to 14, following Resolution No. 230 of February 28, 2020 of the Ministry of Health, which establishes that this week is celebrated every year during the second week of July. The motto for this year is "Keeping yourself healthy is your priority and donating organs is an option."
Our University is proud to be part of the Ibero-American Network of Health Promoting Universities, which also joins this important initiative. During the Health Promotion Week, various activities will be carried out with the aim of promoting healthy lifestyles and raising awareness about the importance of organ donation.
First, we will focus on promoting habits and practices that contribute to maintaining a healthy lifestyle. Talks and workshops will be organized to educate the university community about the importance of a balanced diet, regular physical activity and the adoption of preventive measures to preserve health.
In addition, Health Promotion Week gives us the opportunity to raise awareness among the university population about organ donation. Through informative campaigns and testimonials we will seek to raise awareness about the importance of becoming a donor and how this gesture can save lives. We will promote open discussion on the subject and provide clear and accurate information about the donation process, the requirements and benefits involved.
We hope that this Health Promotion Week will be an opportunity for all members of our university community to reflect on the importance of taking care of their health and to consider organ donation as a caring and altruistic option.

Tuesday, July 11: UMECIT virtual conference on ORGAN DONATION in the framework of the event students are invited to participate as organ donors.
Wednesday, July 12 from 8:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. Students from the Physiotherapy, Occupational Health and Safety and Psychology careers at the Universidad del Istmo will participate in the Health Fair.
