Recognition of our Rector for his commendable work in support of education and the family

A pleasant meeting was held between Deputy Corina Cano Córdoba and the Rector of our House of Studies, José Alberto Nieto Rojas, with the purpose of exalting the meritorious work of UMECIT in supporting initiatives aimed at protecting the family, to education and within the framework of this, to academic events.

The Deputy gave the Rector a letter, with a tone of gratitude and a certificate of excellence for having been the first University to carry out an international conversation to discuss the promulgation of Law 305 of May 31, 2022, which declares that from now on every June will be the Month of the Family, throughout the national territory. The event, which took place on June 29, was attended by Deputy Cano, who explained the scope of the Law and why it constitutes protection for the family. Likewise, the intervention of the Argentine writer, Pablo Muñoz Iturrieta, Doctor in political philosophy, master's degree in philosophical psychology and author of several books, was heard, who celebrated the importance of having this type of public policy in a country. Within the framework of the launch of the Law, a drawing contest was also held where the Metropolitan University of Education, Science and Technology was responsible for awarding the prizes.

In the pleasant meeting, between the Deputy, her assistant and the Rector with managers, there was space to explore ideas on how to enhance education in Panama, to which the Deputy was willing to continue carrying out social projects hand in hand with UMECIT . “It is very important to create a lot of ideas when you have related goals,” he said.

For his part, the Rector, thanked the recognition committing to continue working for the benefit of projects aimed at improving the quality of life of citizens through education.
