SOLCA Free Software and Open Source
As part of the actions of our agreement with SENADIS, we have received the support of the National Authority for Government Innovation, in providing our UMEC community with access to Free Software and Open Source SOLCA.
“SOLCA Panama is a socio-technological project that was born more than 2 years ago as an initiative of the AIG to achieve Digital Inclusion of Knowledge in the areas of education, Health and Local Governments, expanding, in recent years, towards the most vulnerable and sensitive sectors of the country”
UMECIT within the Inclusive Education Program, with a clear search to generate INCLUSION - EQUALITY - EQUITY, joins this initiative that proposes:
- Reduce the technology gap
- Provide free technologies to sensitive sectors
- Make free software available to People with Disabilities that allows them to use the computer, generating Educational, Labor and Social DIGITAL INCLUSION.
- Improve the command of the English Language through Interactive Software for the entire population.
- Contribute to reduce the percentage of failures by providing educational software for learning subjects with higher school and university failure.
- Implement a continuous monitoring process for the detection, evaluation and adaptation of new applications in education and government through the Technological Laboratory for Universities.
