Students from the Bachelor's degrees in Maritime and Port Administration and Logistics and Multimodal Transport of UMECIT, La Chorrera Campus, participated in an enriching academic field practice in the province of Colón, accompanied by Professor Irina Delgado.

During the day, the students visited Colon Container Terminal and the Agua Clara Locks of the Panama Canal, where they had the opportunity to learn firsthand about port operations, technological advances and the functioning of important infrastructures linked to international maritime trade.

The experience allowed participants to directly observe the processes, technologies, and dynamics that make the efficient movement of goods and ships possible, while broadening their perspective on the strategic importance of Panama as a key point in global maritime trade.

This approach to professional reality allowed us to connect the knowledge acquired in the classroom with the dynamics of the maritime-port sector, strengthening skills, sparking interest in research and innovation, and promoting a comprehensive vision of logistics management.

The field practice reaffirms UMECIT's commitment to practical, innovative training linked to the real needs of the country, integrating teaching, research and extension to contribute to the preparation of professionals capable of responding to the challenges of the maritime-port sector and contributing to national development.
