Students of the Bachelor's Degree in Bilingual Tourism from the La Chorrera campus participated in an academic day organized by the Tourism Office of the Municipality of La Chorrera, which allowed them to learn about the tourist, cultural and natural richness of the district.
During the tour, they visited various strategic locations and tourist attractions, exploring the potential of La Chorrera to promote responsible and sustainable tourism. The experience allowed them to explore different types of tourism, including cultural, historical, scenic, sustainable, and agritourism, as well as learn about areas linked to production and export activities.
The day also provided an opportunity to take learning beyond the classroom. Through direct contact with the local area, students were able to hear stories, recognize the roots of the communities, and understand the value of local culture, people, and resources in building tourism experiences.
Students from other educational centers related to the sector also participated in the activity, which fostered the exchange of knowledge and experiences and reaffirmed the importance of education and collaboration in the training of future tourism professionals.
This initiative, in turn, strengthens the ties of cooperation between our institution and the Municipality of La Chorrera, with which we maintain a current agreement that continues to generate opportunities for the comprehensive training of students.
More than an academic outing, the tour invited future professionals to observe their surroundings from a new perspective and recognize the potential of La Chorrera: its stories, landscapes, traditions and experiences.
Knowing the territory also means learning to value it. Experiences like this help train professionals capable of promoting tourism with knowledge, commitment, and a sustainable vision for the future.
