Research in Parita analyzes public perception of environmental crimes

Researchers from UMECIT, Chitré branch, began applying data collection instruments as part of the study "Parita community's perception of environmental crimes," an investigation aimed at understanding how residents identify and experience the ecological problems of their environment.

During this phase, the research team gathers information directly from Parita residents through structured surveys and interviews with key community stakeholders. The aim is to obtain qualitative and quantitative data to identify the environmental violations that cause the most concern among the population and to understand how these violations affect their quality of life.

Community participation is a fundamental component of the study, as it will allow for a diagnosis based on the experiences and perceptions of those who live the environmental realities of the district on a daily basis.

The results obtained will serve as a basis for proposing environmental education strategies, strengthening citizen participation, and formulating recommendations that can contribute to local public policies.

With this research, UMECIT continues to promote the generation of knowledge linked to the needs of communities and the search for alternatives to the environmental challenges of the territories.

The institution thanks the residents of Parita who have participated in this stage of the research and have contributed their experiences and perspectives to the development of the study.
