Educational conference on the impact of work on childhood and adolescence

UMECIT La Chorrera campus, in collaboration with SENNIAF, held the educational day “Impact of Work on Childhood and Adolescence”, aimed at first-year students of the Bachelor's Degree in Social Work and Human Development.

The academic activity allowed participants to approach complex social realities that affect childhood and adolescence, strengthening their sensitivity and professional preparation in the face of problems such as child labor and child abuse.

The event featured presentations by invited speakers, Ms. Cornelia Rodríguez and Ms. Aisaida Batista, representatives of SENNIAF, who shared experiences and knowledge from a professional and human perspective, highlighting the fundamental role of the social worker in the prevention, care and intervention of these situations.

This initiative was made possible thanks to the coordinated work and leadership of the Extension Coordination of the La Chorrera campus, through the Continuing Education subprogram, promoting dynamic academic spaces aligned with the comprehensive training of future professionals in the social field.

With these types of activities, UMECIT reaffirms its commitment to university social responsibility and to the training of professionals who are aware, empathetic and committed to the protection of children and adolescents in Panama.
