Students from the Bachelor's Degree in Maritime and Port Administration at UMECIT La Chorrera campus participated in an educational tour to the PSA Panama Port.
This academic experience allowed students to strengthen the knowledge acquired in the Imports and Exports subject through direct contact with the administrative, operational and logistical processes that take place in one of the most important port terminals in the country.
During the tour, participants had the opportunity to observe firsthand container loading and unloading processes, technological systems applied to logistics control, customs operations, and security protocols implemented in the port environment. These experiences allowed them to understand the strategic importance of Panama as a logistics and maritime hub within international trade.
Among the main results achieved are the strengthening of professional skills related to logistics and international trade, the effective integration between theory and practice, the development of collaborative learning and the increase in student interest in the maritime-port sector.
The activity also allowed students to recognize new job opportunities and understand the importance of the Panamanian logistics system within the global economy.
The academic activity was led by Professor Ana De Gracia.
With this type of initiative, UMECIT reaffirms its commitment to the substantive functions of teaching, research, extension and management, promoting academic experiences that contribute to the comprehensive training of professionals prepared to respond to the challenges of international trade and the global supply chain.
