The Metropolitan University of Education, Science and Technology - UMECIT - visited the Compliance Center for young people and juvenile offenders of the Garzas de Pacora, in order to follow up on the Work Plan designed within the framework of the cooperation agreement between the Ministry of Government and our University.
The purpose of this tour is to follow up on the Work Plan in connection with the substantive functions, teaching, extension and research through strategic actions based on the agreement and with the purpose of carrying out training, support and accompaniment activities for the benefit of the center's young people.
The tour, which was carried out in coordination between the Institute of Interdisciplinary Studies and UMECIT, took place on May 12, with the participation of the National Director of the Institute, Mr. Abraham Kennion, the Director of the Pacora Juvenile Detention Center, Mr. Antonio Pérez and Ms. Nohely Alemán, in charge of projects. Teresa Martínez de Irving, Director of Extension; Kennedy Pérez, Coordinator of the Psychology Clinic; Alejandra Navarro, Legal Advisor; Carlos Martínez, Coordinator of Internationalization and Agreements; Ricaurte Rodríguez, Academic Promoter; Jannis Briceño, Welfare Coordinator; Dr. Gressy Zúñiga, Director of Accreditation and student Cinthia Oseguera attended the meeting on behalf of UMECIT.
This shows UMECIT's interest in getting involved in training, support and accompaniment activities for the benefit of the center's youth.
Collaboration between educational institutions and enforcement centers is important to provide development opportunities and support to young offenders. Through these strategic actions, we seek to contribute to their social reintegration by offering training programs, legal advice, psychological support and other services that promote their rehabilitation and reintegration into society.
