As part of its commitment to social responsibility and strengthening ties with the community, UMECIT, La Chorrera branch, participated in the Health Fair organized by the Lions Club La Chorrera Oeste, held at the General Basic Education Center (CEBG) El Limón in La Chorrera.

During the day, various services were provided to the community, including general medical care, guidance on skin care, and other activities focused on promoting the health and overall well-being of the families in attendance.

The valuable participation of volunteers from the "Hands That Transform" group, made up of students from various disciplines, was greatly appreciated. On this occasion, students from Psychology, Social Work, and the Legal Clinic participated, under the direction of Professor Kerubis Harris.

The day also included the support of teacher Haydi Arcia, a specialist in Psychology, who, along with the students, provided guidance, active listening, and support to parents and children who attended the activity.

Beyond the services offered, this fair represented a space for meeting, solidarity, and human commitment, where every guidance provided, every word of support, and every gesture of empathy contributed to generating a positive impact on the lives of the participating families.

UMECIT's presence reaffirms its mission to train socially conscious professionals committed to transforming communities and building a more just, inclusive, and humane society. The work carried out by students, faculty, and administrative staff demonstrates that education transcends the classroom when it is placed at the service of those who need it most.

We thank the La Chorrera Oeste Lions Club for allowing us to be part of this noble initiative, strengthening collaboration between institutions and promoting actions that contribute to the well-being of our community.
