UMECIT students at APADEA

As part of collaborative field work, Commercial Law students visited the Panamanian Association of Insurers, under the coordination of Professor Mariano Nuñez Justiniani, with the purpose of learning about the most important institution that brings together the conglomerate of duly insured companies. In Panama. APADEA is a non-profit organization that promotes, disseminates and coordinates insurance activity at a private level. It is currently made up of 20 insurance companies, out of 23 that exist in the Panamanian market and that are concerned with compliance with legal, technical and professional standards in the industry.
The students had the opportunity to meet with Ms. Esilda González de Camacho, Executive Director of the Association, to learn first-hand about the experiences and knowledge at the head of this important organization that is celebrating its 70th anniversary these days.
“We made sure that the students knew the value of this effort, which not only has an impact on their academic work but also on their legal heritage in a thriving industry and of capital importance in the national economy of Panama” Emmanuel Mendita, Extension Coordinator and who was in charge of the event, pointed out.
