In an act of solidarity and community commitment, first-year students from various majors at the Santiago Campus came together to make an important donation to the San Juan de Dios Nursing Home last Saturday, April 20. This activity was carried out within the framework of the Day of Good Deeds, highlighting the firm social and humanitarian commitment of our educational institution.
The initiative had the participation of 34 students from the Bachelor's Degrees in Law, Political Science, Social Work and Occupational Safety and Health. Together, they organized to collect non-perishable food, personal hygiene products and other basic necessities, in order to contribute to the well-being of the residents of the Asylum.
This action transcends the simple delivery of donations. It represents the deep commitment of our University to social causes and the comprehensive development of students. We seek to foster in them a sense of civic responsibility and solidarity towards the most vulnerable sectors of society.
Linking our House of Studies with social impact projects like this one not only strengthens our ties with the community, but also enriches the academic training of students. It provides them with meaningful experiences that complement their classroom learning and prepare them to become engaged and empathetic citizens.
The San Juan de Dios Nursing Home gratefully received this generous donation, which will significantly contribute to improving the quality of life of its residents. This solidarity action is an inspiring example of the transformative power that small actions have when carried out with love and dedication.
