UMECIT Electrical Engineering Students Explore the Industry on a Visit to Ingenio La Victoria

In recent days, students of the Electrical Engineering Technician of the Santiago Campus, belonging to the Electricity Workshop I subject, had the opportunity to make a field visit to the renowned Ingenio La Victoria.

The visit, coordinated by Professor Miguel Vasquez, had as its main objective to highlight the importance of academic practices and provide students with a direct approach to the electrical industry and its applications in a real environment.

During the day, the students had the opportunity to tour the facilities of Ingenio La Victoria, one of the main companies in the sugar sector in our region. There, they were able to learn about the various areas and processes related to the generation and distribution of electrical energy, as well as the security measures implemented at each stage of the process.

In addition, the students participated in informative talks given by company professionals, who shared their knowledge and experiences in the electrical field. This interaction allowed students to broaden their vision of possible job opportunities and deepen their comprehensive training.
