Environmental Management students strengthen their learning on an academic tour to the Altos de Campana Forest Reserve
As part of the practical training activities, fifth semester students of the Bachelor's Degree in Environmental Management Administration carried out an academic tour to the Altos de Campana Forest Reserve, within the framework of the subject Flora and Fauna.
The activity, developed under the guidance of Professor Gilberto Garrido, allowed participants to explore one of the most important ecosystems in the country and delve deeper into the study of the biodiversity present in this protected area.
During the tour, the students identified various endemic species, analyzed the forest structure of the reserve, and observed firsthand the ecological dynamics that characterize this valuable natural environment. The experience also provided an opportunity to understand the relationship between environmental factors and the conservation of local flora and fauna.
In addition to reinforcing classroom knowledge, the tour contributed to strengthening skills related to the management, conservation, and sustainable use of natural resources. Throughout the day, the future professionals assessed the challenges facing protected areas and reflected on the importance of implementing strategies that guarantee the preservation of ecosystems.
This academic experience reaffirms UMECIT's commitment to comprehensive training, based on practical learning and direct contact with environmental reality, preparing professionals capable of contributing to sustainable development and the protection of the country's natural heritage.
