As part of its social engagement and commitment to the communities, UMECIT La Chorrera branch held a moving day of solidarity at the Bonga Arriba School, located in the district of Capira, where school supplies were delivered to boys and girls of the community.
During the activity, approximately 18 students enthusiastically received the educational materials, demonstrating the positive impact of this initiative on their learning process. More than just a distribution, the day represented a space for connection, closeness, and hope.
This action was made possible thanks to the solidarity of the student community and the faculty of the campus, who reaffirmed their social commitment and their interest in contributing to the development of communities with greater needs.
The school principal expressed her gratitude for this act of solidarity, highlighting the importance of such actions for the well-being and development of the students.
Beyond the delivery of school supplies, the activity promotes fundamental values such as empathy, solidarity, and social commitment, strengthening the bond between the university and society, and reaffirming the role of higher education as an agent of social transformation.
The event was supported by the Extension Coordination Office at the La Chorrera campus and included the participation of Diosa Sánchez, Campus Coordination Assistant; Henyi Edghill, a student in the General Psychology program; and María Coronado and Cristal Santana, students in the Bilingual Tourism program and volunteers with the Hands That Transform program. The support of the La Chorrera Off Road Foundation, which provided logistical assistance for transporting the donations, was also acknowledged.
