Within the framework of World Patient Safety Day, commemorated on September 17, UMECIT held its First Nursing Symposium, an academic event aimed at strengthening the training of our future professionals and promoting a culture of safety in healthcare.

The meeting featured the participation of prominent speakers: Flor Pitti, Juan González, Jorge Quintero and Leyda Nenzen, who shared their experiences and knowledge with our students, providing tools for the development of essential skills in the practice of the profession.

Through the keynote lectures, participants delved into the importance of providing safe, ethical, and empathetic care, guided by the International Patient Safety Goals and by the ongoing commitment to putting people's well-being at the center of care.

As part of this academic experience, the EON-XR platform was also used, an extended reality tool that allowed for promoting interaction and dynamically testing the knowledge acquired during the conferences.

The activity was organized by second-year nursing students, with the support of the Nursing Coordination, teachers and administrative staff, as well as the participation of first-year students, who will soon begin their clinical internships.

This symposium reaffirms UMECIT's commitment to comprehensive and quality training, preparing professionals capable of responding to the challenges of the health sector with knowledge, responsibility and human sensitivity.
