Legal learning is strengthened by the institutions that regulate the securities market
With the purpose of strengthening the practical training of future legal professionals, students of the Bachelor of Law and Political Science at UMECIT, La Chorrera campus, carried out an academic tour to the Superintendency of the Securities Market (SMV) as part of the subject of Stock Market Law.
During the visit, participants expanded their knowledge of the legal framework governing the securities market in Panama, delving into Decree Law 1 of 1999, Law 67 of 2011, and the sanctioning procedures applied by the SMV (Superintendency of the Securities Market). This experience allowed them to understand the workings of the regulatory body and connect the content covered in the classroom with professional practice.
The day also promoted the development of skills such as critical thinking, legal analysis, regulatory interpretation and teamwork, through the study of cases related to the commercial and financial field.
With this type of experience, UMECIT reaffirms its commitment to a quality education that integrates theory and practice, strengthening the skills of its students through contact with key institutions in the country and preparing them to respond with ethics, knowledge and judgment to the challenges of professional practice.
