Good Deeds Day: joining efforts to do good

At UMECIT, we are proud to be part of the global Good Deeds Day movement. In this celebration, we encourage our UMECISTA community to carry out altruistic actions in line with our mission and curricular educational model.

Good Deeds Day is a global movement that unites people from more than 90 countries to carry out works that positively impact the world. Since its inception in 2007, driven by businesswoman and philanthropist Shari Arison, this initiative has grown enormously, uniting organizations, companies and millions of people with the collective idea of doing good, for the benefit of others and our planet.

In Panama, we join this celebration for the seventh time, thanks to the organization of the Panamanian Jewish Foundation (JUPÁ), B'NAI B'RITH of Panama and Volunteers of Panama with its platform “Put yourself in Something”. This year, the celebration will take place next Sunday, April 14, 2024, a day on which thousands of Panamanians come together in an act of love and global solidarity, helping those who need it most.

Every year, more people join this initiative through different efforts, where communities, work groups, family or friends come together to carry out a good deed. It is important to highlight that people must register their activity or project on the website www.buenasaccionespty.com to record and make visible the reach achieved in Panama, and increase the participation statistics at the national and global level.

Good actions can be diverse, from giving a hug, donating clothes, to promoting recycling or visiting the sick and elderly who need company. Through these activities, people of all ages and cultures get involved, creating a positive impact on our society.

To record your good deed, follow these simple steps:

Go to the website www.buenasaccionespty.com and complete the registration form, selecting the classification that corresponds to your institution.

If you want to join a foundation to participate, visit the platform www.ponteenalgo.com and choose the foundation and project that best identify you.

Once you have completed your good deed, send photos and videos of the activity to dba@buenasaccionespty.com or share them on social networks tagging your photo with #BuenasAccionesPTY.
