Students from the first group of the Bachelor's Degree in Social Communication, Journalism and Digital Media at UMECIT participated in the conversation with the presidential candidates, organized by the National College of Journalists -CONAPE- and titled: «Freedom of Expression, Journalism and Democracy: Citizen Vision of education in the digital age.

The event, held at the Specialized Higher Technical Institute -ITSE-, had the participation of the presidential candidates Melitón Arrocha, Maribel Gordón and Zulay Rodríguez, as well as the presence of vice president José Isabel Blandón, who represented the candidate Romulo Roux. UMECIT students participated actively, posing pertinent questions and contributing to the dialogue about the challenges and opportunities facing education and journalism in the digital age.

Each candidate had the opportunity to present their proposals and visions on education and freedom of expression, addressing crucial issues for the democratic and social development of the country. In addition, a space for interaction was created in which journalists and students from various universities could raise their concerns and reflections, thus enriching the debate and promoting informed citizen participation committed to the future of the nation. The active participation of UMECIT students highlights their commitment to society, their ability to get involved in issues of national relevance and their excellent training in media issues.
