The Metropolitan University of Education, Science and Technology -UMECIT-, La Chorrera campus, reaffirmed its commitment to comprehensive education and social responsibility by developing the Social Tour "Creative Campaign for Social Impact"« at the Bonga Arriba Multigrade School, in the district of Capira, an academic experience that integrated teaching, research and university extension for the benefit of the community.
The initiative was led by Professor Osvaldo Blackman, responsible for the project, with the support of the Extension Coordination of the La Chorrera headquarters, which facilitated the articulation with the management of the educational center to make this social intervention possible.
As part of the subject Creativity I, Students of the Bachelor's Degree in Marketing and Advertising carried out a participatory diagnosis that included field observation, interviews and analysis of the context, with the purpose of knowing the needs of the school and designing innovative proposals aimed at strengthening the educational environment.
During the visit, the students learned about the reality of a multi-grade center that serves 18 children, including students with special educational needs, an experience that allowed them to understand how creativity, social marketing and strategic communication can become tools to promote inclusion, well-being and community development.
As a result of the fieldwork, the future professionals proposed strategies focused on visual communication, strengthening institutional identity and social awareness actions, demonstrating that the knowledge acquired in the classroom can be translated into solutions with real impact for communities.
With these types of initiatives, UMECIT continues to promote an education based on experiential learning, training professionals committed to innovation, research and social transformation, while strengthening the links between the university and the communities of the country.
