Social commitment with a legal focus at the La Chorrera Student Health Fair

The Metropolitan University of Education, Science and Technology -UMECIT-, La Chorrera campus, participated in the Student Health Fair "Your health matters to me"«, organized by the City of Faith Foundation with the endorsement of the Ministry of Education (MEDUCA), reaffirming its commitment to university extension, social responsibility and service to the community.

Representing the university were Ms. Kerubis Harris, coordinator of the UMECIT Legal Clinic; student interns from the Bachelor of Law and Political Science program who are completing their internships at the Legal Clinic; and the Extension Coordinator from the La Chorrera campus.

The event brought together various public and private institutions from the La Chorrera district. At this important gathering, UMECIT was the only participating university, offering a legal guidance booth to the community, aimed at students, parents, and teachers.

Through this initiative, the team provided advice and education on topics related to health rights, informed consent, personal data protection, patient rights, and other legal aspects of citizen interest.

In addition to strengthening ties between the university and the community, participation allowed students to apply their knowledge in a real service environment, consolidating professional skills and the humanistic approach that characterizes UMECIT's training.

With actions like this, UMECIT continues to promote social impact projects that foster education, a culture of legality, and the well-being of communities, reaffirming its mission to train professionals committed to the development of the country.
