Social commitment with the delivery of school supplies in Capira

Within the framework of community outreach and social responsibility activities, the Metropolitan University of Education, Science and Technology -UMECIT-, through the Extension Coordination and volunteering Hands that Transform, successfully carried out the delivery of school supplies to boys and girls of the Marganao School, located in the district of Capira.

This initiative directly benefited approximately 28 students, who enthusiastically received the donated educational materials, thus contributing to improving their learning conditions and academic motivation.

The donations were made possible thanks to the valuable solidarity of the student community and the teaching staff of the UMECIT La Chorrera campus, demonstrating a firm institutional commitment to the educational development of communities in vulnerable situations.

During the delivery, the delegation was received by the school principal, who expressed her gratitude for this act of solidarity. Likewise, the students who received the supplies expressed great joy upon receiving them, demonstrating the positive impact of this action on their education.

Beyond the delivery of materials, this activity promotes values such as solidarity, empathy and social commitment, while strengthening the links between academia and the community.

Representing the University, the following participated in this event: the site coordinator, Ernesto Martínez; Javier Torres, administrative collaborator, who provided fundamental logistical support; the coordinator of the Psychological Clinic, Víctor Tejada; and the Extension coordinator, Alexis del Cid, who led the planning, management and coordination of the activity.

With initiatives like this, UMECIT reaffirms its role as an agent of change, contributing to the social and educational development of the country, and consolidating an institutional culture based on service and social responsibility.
