In the Dr. Claudia Marcela Rueda auditorium of the Founders headquarters, a special activity was carried out on the Benefit of Physiotherapy in Mental Health. This initiative, led by Professor Venus Córdoba, focused on the importance of considering physical therapy as an integral part of mental health care.
In a motivating and joyful atmosphere, we brought together teachers, students and administrative staff from the Faculty of Health Sciences to explore how physical therapy can teach us to connect our body with our mind. During the activity, the relevance of promoting body awareness and the connection between physical sensations and emotions as essential elements for emotional well-being was highlighted.
We remind everyone that if you are interested in incorporating physical therapy into your mental health care, it is essential to seek the guidance of a health professional. Physiotherapy becomes a valuable complement in the comprehensive approach to mental well-being, along with other interventions such as psychological therapy and, in some cases, medication.
At our university, we are committed to promoting a comprehensive approach to mental health, and this activity is a testament to our dedication to the well-being of our academic community.
