XI UMECIT Health Fair 2023
The Metropolitan University of Education, Science and Technology -UMECIT-, within the framework of its linkage and social work activities, annually holds the Health Fair in order to promote healthy lifestyles and support for prioritized groups.
This iconic activity seeks to promote physical activity, recreation and sports, as means to contribute to strengthening physical culture in Panama and the well-being of our educational community.
The primary objective of the Health Fair is to favor institutions dedicated to addressing situations of vulnerability in the population of our country and with the donations collected we seek to contribute to improving the quality of life of the people of the organization or foundation selected. through a vote.
This important event is aimed at students, teachers, administrators, graduates, strategic allies and the community in general.
This year, like every year, the different branches throughout the country commit to a foundation to which the money raised will be given.

Umecista Healthy Circuit 2023: “For equal opportunities” In favor of the equipment of the Kitchen of the Children Down Foundation of Chitré
The Down Children's Centers Foundation of the province of Herrera is a non-profit organization that dates back to 1999. It is registered in deed No. 1160 of May 24, 2001, volume 2001, seat 57991. RUC: 240652 -1-17548 DV 64
Its mission is to offer support to parents of children, young people and adults with intellectual disabilities in the province of Herrera, so that their sons and daughters can access timely, comprehensive and quality care that allows them to achieve true social inclusion.
Its vision is to ensure that children, young people and adults with intellectual disabilities in the province of Herrera achieve true social inclusion through real equalization of opportunities and enjoy a quality life in equality.
The Foundation works on behalf of the population with intellectual disabilities in the province of Herrera, mainly those who live in the poorest areas of the region. The Foundation promotes the human rights of people with disabilities, promoting dignified, fair and equitable treatment, with support for families, through Parent to Parent Support, where they provide support to families that receive a new member with the condition of disability (especially with Down Syndrome or autism), as well as families with a member who has suddenly acquired a disability at any age, whether due to accident or illness.

DAVID HEADQUARTERS
As part of the actions that promote healthy habits and lifestyles, students, teachers and administrators at the David headquarters will hold the health fair on Saturday, October 7, with the motto: Health for all! for the benefit of the girl Kathleen Camibel Santos.
During the event, training campaigns will be developed on personal care, disease prevention, vaccination days, blood pressure and blood sugar measurements, and entertainment and cultural activities such as typical dances, linking public and private institutions.

PANAMA HEADQUARTERS
This year the organization benefiting from the money raised is Bolivar Home.
Hogar Bolívar is a nursing home which has been in operation since 1883 and provides care, protection and security to elderly people with difficulties such as abandonment, destitution, extreme poverty, health, physical and mental dependence.
This year the XI Health Fair of our school is celebrated with walks, promotion of healthy habits, cultural dances, folklore presentations, Pilates classes, vaccination day, Zumba fitness, presentation of self-defense techniques, Races, Activities sports and cultural.

SANTIAGO FAIR
The beneficiary of the activity is the Offer a Home Foundation, which is responsible for caring for boys and girls in vulnerable situations. and we will have the following activities:
- Presentation of Stand with health themes
- Zumba dances
- Yoga classes
- Canine Units of the National Police
- Leisure and Sports Competitions
- Folklore Presentation by the Professional and Technical Institute of Veraguas folklore screenings group.
- Vaccination and blood pressure testing sessions.

LA CHORRERA HEADQUARTERS
The University, aware of its leading role in the progress of the region and other latitudes of the world, has devised mechanisms to link with the business sector and society with great speed, to satisfy their needs and those of the environment to which it is inserted. Thus, the Health Fair is held to benefit the Caballero Family "Building Dreams, Transforming Lives: Help and Hope."
Therefore, as a promoting agent of the humanistic conception, values such as: solidarity, love, forgiveness, tolerance are promoted in the university community.
The Health Fair developed by UMECIT headquarters La Chorrera, will be held at the 28 de Noviembre Sports Complex in La Chorrera, with the aim of raising funds in support of the Caballero family.
During the fair event a series of activities will be carried out, including:
- Zumba Fitness.
- Show by the Canine Units of the National Police
- Cultural Presentation by the UMECIT Folklore Projections Group at La Chorrera headquarters
- Blood pressure and glucose measurement by the La Chorrera Oeste Lions Club
- Vaccination Day by the Ministry of Health
- Internal and external entrepreneurs
- National Police and recruitment selection
- Soccer tournament
