UMECIT signed two cooperation agreements with the Román Torres Football Academy and the company Lafer Sports Management, Inc.
With the purpose of promoting actions in which UMECIT teachers and students participate that contribute to the promotion of sport and the strengthening of its specialized human resources, as well as strengthening protective factors that allow the reduction of bad practices, and the change of children and adolescents, these cooperation agreements were signed with the Román Torres Football Academy and the company Lafer Sports Management, Inc.
The agreements will establish the bases for technical, scientific and cultural cooperation between both institutions, in different areas such as: professional practice, social work; as well as sports, research, updating or training activities in other areas of interest to both institutions.
It is contemplated to seek the joint organization of events and activities, such as: congresses, seminars, symposiums, soccer tournaments, workshops, conferences, scientific and academic fairs, among others, that promote the participation of sports and healthy competition.
Likewise, it is intended to work on the execution of research projects and programs on topics that both entities agree upon and cooperate on specific consulting programs.
Within the framework of the agreements, the possibility of granting scholarships for English courses at the UMECIT Language Center will be evaluated, as well as scholarships for players represented by LAFER, for undergraduate, graduate and postgraduate programs. The possibility of carrying out, in the UMECIT physiotherapy laboratory, rehabilitation therapies for players represented by LAFER will be evaluated, prior analysis and approval of the Coordination of the Faculty of Health Sciences.
